What is a CUBE LUT file?
A CUBE LUT (Look-Up Table) is a file format used by video editing software like DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, and Final Cut Pro to apply color transformations. Converting Lightroom presets to CUBE LUTs allows you to use the same color grading in both photo and video editing.
What's the difference between XMP and LRTEMPLATE?
XMP is the modern preset format used by Lightroom Classic 7+ and Adobe Camera Raw. LRTEMPLATE is the legacy format from Lightroom 4-6. Many presets shared online are still in LRTEMPLATE format, so conversion tools help maintain compatibility.
Which LUT size should I choose?
33x33x33 is recommended for most uses - it provides excellent quality at reasonable file sizes (~1MB). Use 17x17x17 for previews or limited storage, and 65x65x65 when maximum color accuracy is critical.
Are all Lightroom settings converted to LUT?
LUTs can only store color transformations. Spatial effects like Clarity, Texture, Dehaze, Sharpening, and Noise Reduction cannot be encoded in LUTs because they depend on surrounding pixels. These settings will be noted but not included in the conversion.
